The Orange County Sheriff Department OC Crime Lab is accredited by the American Society of Crime Laboratory
Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) (http://www.ascld-lab.org)
having been so accredited since 1992. Earning accreditation by a national
organization of forensic science laboratories provides an independent,
impartial, and objective evaluation that can assure the users of laboratory,
and the public, that the lab produces high quality services.
The Quality Assurance section is responsible for monitoring compliance of
the Sheriff's Laboratory with accreditation standards and Division policies
through mechanisms such as section audits and proficiency testing.
